Wanna take some workshops?
Here’s your Dallas workshop schedule
Saturday September 4th 11:00a-1:00p: Device Art w/ Chris Trew – $15
While walk-ons and tap-outs are beautiful devices when used correctly, they often cause problems when used incorrectly. In this workshop we’ll discuss the proper techniques to executing these popular devices including mechanics and heightening. If you walk on stage as Grandma because someone said the word “Grandma” you should take this workshop.
Saturday September 4th 1:15p-3:15p: The Monoscene w/ Tami Nelson – $15
Learn how to manage a monoscene (one long scene) by identifying the guiding points of the scene. By recognizing the determinate elements of the scene, be it character, dynamic, patterns and/or game, students learn to better “map” the direction of the monoscene. We encourage our students to play within these elements and discourage them from assuming the sometimes daunting task of following the narrative of the scene. This workshop highlights the importance of identifying these elements as well as experimenting with slower pacing, timing, theme and character exploration and pattern building.
