National Sketch Writing Month

I’ve been participating this month in the 31 Plays in 31 Days Project. Much like National Novel Writing Month (in November), 31 Plays encourages playwrights to create one play a day of at least one page in length. I’m enjoying it, and as the month goes on, I’m discovering that I’m writing a lot of really short plays, what many would call sketches.

Well, guess what. There’s a National Sketch Writing Month upcoming in September. Looks like I’ll be transitioning over to it after 31 Plays is finished. I know a lot of DCH performers and fans enjoy writing and would like to create and see more sketches. Now’s your chance. Let’s all write a bunch of them in September and then work on getting them on stage together.
